1.Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Breaking what feels like every record, Star Wars ended 2015 with a bang; or with an explosion of a spaceship. Reigniting a franchise that many were worried would disappear after the criticism surrounding the prequels, Star Wars made a triumphant return. But perhaps the best thing about this film is the introduction of two wonderful actors, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega, who play the leads in the film. Despite sharing the screen with Star Wars legacies, it was these two that really came out on top.
2.Adele Released ‘25’
Earlier this year, Adele finally said ‘Hello’ after her break from the music world. Perhaps the female equivalent of Star Wars, she’s been breaking every record since her return. Though it feels like she left us for too long, it was definitely worth the wait. Gracing the front cover of TIME, and with astonishing first week sales of her album ‘25’, it seems this woman can do no wrong.

For a band that’s been non-stop for five years, I’m impressed they haven’t called for a break before this point. One Direction have played such a major part in the music industry since leaving the X Factor, it’ll be intriguing to see which pop stars come forward to fill their shoes. Can it even be done?

Having gone on to receive Glamour’s Woman of the Year Award, Caitlyn has been praised both for her courage and inspiration. Transgender issues have become more widely acknowledged over the past few years. The film ‘The Danish Girl’ (currently in cinemas) surrounding the life of artist Einar Wegener, who was one of the first people to undergo a sex-change operation. Though this is seen as an entertainment story, hopefully it will lead to real change.

Despite previous bad press, Justin Bieber showed this year that it’s never too late to say sorry. Releasing his album ‘Purpose’ in November, Justin’s been winning over musical critics. His recent Instagram, though hilarious, does show that no one can ignore his talents any more. With his Grammy nomination for ‘Where Are Ü Now’, it’s clear 2016 will be a good year for him. It seems we’re finally all getting the Bieber Fever.
